The Big Ten named its coaches and media selections to the all-conference offensive and special teams on Wednesday. Several Badgers received honors, including three offensive linemen.
Senior running back Corey Clement and redshirt junior left tackle Ryan Ramczyk were both named All-Big Ten First Team coaches selections.
Clement, who missed much most of his junior year with injury, bounced back in a big way in 2016. Rushing for 1,174 yards on 271 carries, Clement scored 13 touchdowns in 11 games and averaged 103.64 yards per game. Clement was a second-team all-conference selection by the media.
Ramczyk was a consensus first-team all-Big Ten selection (coaches and media). He sat out all of 2015 as a transfer from Division III UW-Stevens Point, but anchored an offensive line that saw significant shuffling throughout the 2016 season due to injuries. Some are projecting him as a potential first-round NFL draft pick if he decides to leave school after this season.
Here are the other Badgers honored on Wednesday:
- Redshirt sophomore guard Beau Benzschawel (12 games started at right guard) —second-team All-Big Ten (coaches), third-team all-Big Ten (media)
- Redshirt junior tight end Troy Fumagalli (38 catches, 467 yards, one touchdown) — second-team All-Big Ten (coaches), third-team all-Big Ten (media)
- Redshirt junior wide receiver Jazz Peavy (39 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns; 17 rushes for 264 yards, one touchdown) — all-Big Ten Honorable Mention (coaches and media)
- Redshirt sophomore center Michael Deiter (12 starts) — all-Big Ten Honorable Mention (coaches and media)
