Podcast: Wisconsin-Northwestern preview with Adam Hoge

Talking Badgers-Wildcats, World Series and Friday Night Lights for the Big Ten Conference.

NCAA Football: Northwestern at Ohio State Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

One heck of a show this week.

The No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers return to Evanston, a place they haven't won in 17 years, as they will face the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday (11 a.m. CST, ABC).

UW (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) appears it will have its star defensive standout, outside linebacker T.J. Watt, on the field after suffering a shoulder injury against No. 10 Nebraska last Saturday. How will Watt, Vince Biegel, T.J. Edwards and the combination of Leon Jacobs/Ryan Connelly step up to stop a rushing attack featuring Wildcats running back Justin Jackson and quarterback Clayton Thorson? Can an overachieving Wisconsin secondary stop Big Ten-leading receiver (and former walk-on) Austin Carr? B5Q founder, now WGN's Chicago Bears insider and Northwestern football sideline reporter Adam Hoge helped us preview the Wildcats for the first 25 minutes of the show.

About 40-43 minutes in, we discussed the Big Ten Conference’s decision to play football on Friday nights. With whom you ask? Former Wisconsin walk-on tight end, current Brookfield Central assistant coach, and co-author of Walk-On This Way Joel Nellis.
