MADISON — The No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers head into Axe Week relatively healthy with no new injuries to adjust for.
Wisconsin (9-2, 6-2 Big Ten) listed outside linebacker Zack Baun (left leg), right tackle Jacob Maxwell (right shoulder) and fullback Austin Ramesh (right shoulder) as questionable for their Saturday matchup against Minnesota (8-3, 5-3) on the week’s initial injury report released on Monday.
In Maxwell’s place, redshirt freshman David Edwards has stepped in and started, while sophomore Alec Ingold scored two touchdowns with Ramesh sidelined. T.J. Watt, Vince Biegel and Garret Dooley combined for seven tackles and 2.5 sacks in UW’s 49-20 win at Purdue on Saturday.
Sophomore nose tackle Olive Sagapolu remains out for the fifth straight game with a right arm injury. Expect junior Conor Sheehy and freshman Garrett Rand to step up once again to anchor the middle of Wisconsin’s defensive line, which has helped Wisconsin only allow an opponent gain over 100 yards rushing since Sheehy’s been the starter.
