ESPN College GameDay coming to Madison next weekend

Huge news for what could be a Top-10 match-up

NCAA Football: ESPN College Game Day Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

A dynamite atmosphere next weekend just got a little more electric.

Madison will be the site for next Saturday’s ESPN College GameDay, highlighting the match-up between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) and No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers (4-1, 1-1) later that evening.

ESPN made the announcement via College GameDay’s Twitter account. Wisconsin’s football account confirmed it will be on Bascom Hill.

It will be the first time since 2011 that the college football pregame show will be in Madison. The cast and crew set up shop on Bascom Hill before the Russell Wilson-led Badgers asserted themselves in a 48-17 win over Nebraska.

In 2010, they were onsite inside Camp Randall Stadium before the Badgers took down No. 1 Ohio State 31-18.

Earlier this season, the College GameDay crew was in Green Bay for UW’s season-opening, 16-14 win against LSU on Sept. 3. All the analysts, except special guest picker Aaron Rodgers, chose the Tigers.

Last year, College GameDay was at AT&T Stadium in Dallas when Wisconsin lost to Alabama 35-17.
