MADISON — The Wisconsin Badgers are set to start a different right tackle, and a key contributor on the defense and special teams will not play in Saturday night’s game against No. 7 Nebraska.
According to UWBadgers.com’s Mike Lucas, right tackle Jacob Maxwell (shoulder) and cornerback Natrell Jamerson will not play against the Huskers.
That leaves redshirt freshman David Edwards to make his first career start against the seventh-best team in the nation. As Lucas noted, he played five series at that position last week in Wisconsin’s 17-9 win at Iowa.
Lucas also confirmed redshirt freshman Jon Dietzen will start this week at left guard, allowing redshirt sophomore Michael Deiter to move over to center.
Jamerson was upgraded to questionable this week after being out since the Georgia State game with a left leg injury. Expect junior Lubern Figaro to maintain that third cornerback position yet again.
David Edwards, who played 5 series at Iowa, will make 1st start at RT for injured Jacob Maxwell. Deitzen will start at LG, Deiter at center
