Make it six in the row for the Wisconsin football team managers.
In what’s become a tradition between the two rivals, UW’s student managers defeated Iowa’s 12-0 on Friday evening inside Iowa’s football facility to retain the Rusty Toolbox and their sixth consecutive victory.
Bob Dunn, who played quarterback on the football team for spring practices this year, scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Mitchell Fenrich recorded two interceptions in the win after the game was scoreless through three quarters (All stats and news were taken from Wisconsin’s official football equipment Twitter handle).
Since 1995, the teams’ student managers face off against one another in a flag football game held on the eve of the football game between the Badgers and Hawkeyes.
Iowa won the inaugural event in 1991 and still leads the all-time series 11-10.
ESPN.com’s Jesse Temple highlighted the passionate battle last year, and the Big Ten Network’s The Journey appears to have chronicled the game for their Oct. 25 episode.
Great start to the weekend.
