It’s been an eventful week for former Wisconsin cornerback Darius Hillary. On Tuesday, he was signed to the Cleveland Browns practice squad after being released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 30.
On Friday afternoon, the team added him to their 53-man roster via their official press release.
An Ohio native, Hillary was initially picked up by the Bengals as a free agent after not being selected in the NFL Draft. He failed to make the final roster, but spent time on their practice squad.
Hillary was a two-time all-Big Ten selection at Wisconsin, a 2015 consensus honorable mention while earning second-team honors by the coaches, honorable mention by the media in 2014. He played in 54 career games -- including 40 starts — the former tied for most in program history. He is the 25th former Badger on an active NFL roster.
