While the Badgers weren’t able to pull off the upset against No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday night, Wisconsin landed a prospect for the class of 2017.
Pembroke Pines, Fla. (Charles W. Flanagan) cornerback Faion Hicks verbally committed to the Badgers on Sunday morning. He made his announcement via Twitter.
Hicks, while average-sized for his position at 5’11 and 180 pounds, comes into Wisconsin with tremendous athleticism and a skill to cover prospects man to man. A shoulder injury in the spring limited his ability to get seen and get tested, but he put up a 4.57 40-yard dash time and a 36.9-inch vertical leap going into his junior season. On September 26, the Badgers gave him an offer, and near-instantly became the favorites for Hicks.

Rated a three-star recruit by 247 Sports composite and Rivals, Hicks received Power 5 offers from Illinois and Iowa State, along with other opportunities from Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Southern Mississippi, Toledo, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan.
The talented Florida prospect joins Madison Cone as class of 2017 cornerbacks, while Hawaii transfer Nick Nelson will also be added to the position once eligible next season.
