Earlier this summer, various media reports suggested Wisconsin and Syracuse were discussing a football series at some point down the road. On Thursday, the Badgers confirmed the scheduling: Wisconsin will host Syracuse at Camp Randall Stadium on Sept. 12, 2020. Syracuse will host Wisconsin the following year at the Carrier Dome on Sept. 11, 2021.

Wisconsin and Syracuse have met five times, most recently in the 1997 Kickoff Classic in East Rutherford, N.J. The Orange won that game 34-0. In fact, Wisconsin's only win in the series came in 1972, when the Badgers won 31-8 in Madison. In total, the series stands 3-1-1 in favor of Syracuse.

Additionally, Wisconsin has rescheduled previously scheduled games with BYU and South Florida. The Badgers were originally slated to travel to USF in 2017; instead, that game has been moved to Aug. 31, 2019, to open that season. As for the BYU game, Wisconsin will now travel to Provo, Utah, to face the Cougars on Sept. 16, 2017. BYU will return to Madison the following season. The trip to Provo was previously slated for 2019.

Finally, Wisconsin finalized a few more future non-conference home games: New Mexico (Sept. 8, 2018), Central Michigan (Sept. 7, 2019) and North Texas (Oct. 5, 2019).

Other future home-and-homes Wisconsin has on tap include Washington State (2022 and 2023), Virignia Tech (2024 and 2025) and Hawaii (2022 and 2024).
