2015 Wisconsin football roster posted: Jordan Stevenson among freshmen listed

Jordan Stevenson, Wisconsin's top running back signee, has been expected to join the Badgers in the fall.

Wisconsin posted its 2015 football roster on Thursday and Badgers fans will be glad to note that running back signee Jordan Stevenson is listed.

A four-star running back from Dallas (South Oak Cliff), Stevenson verbally committed to Wisconsin on Dec. 11, shortly after Gary Andersen bolted for Oregon State. When the Badgers' incoming freshman began arriving on campus last month, Stevenson was not among them, causing some concern among fans given the repeated issues the program has had with academic standards.

Head coach Paul Chryst quelled those concerns, however, with a statement emailed to ESPN Madison's Zach Heilprin.

"He's not enrolled for the summer, but we expect him to be with us for fall camp," Chryst said in the statement on June 22.

Stevenson is listed at 5'9, 190 pounds. He will wear No. 24 along with linebacker Keelon Brookins, at least to start.

Elsewhere, Connor Senger is no longer on the roster. Senger has played quarterback and receiver to the past two seasons, largely on the scout team, where he was twice named UW's Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year.

As usual for this time of the year, a number of players changed jersey numbers:

  • Tight end Troy Fumagalli to No. 81 from No. 48
  • Defensive end Alec James to No. 57 from No. 6
  • Wide receiver A.J. Jordan to No. 82 from No. 1
  • Safety Tanner McEvoy to No. 3, from No. 5
  • Running back Serge Trezy to No. 30 from No. 3
