The Wisconsin Badgers survived and advanced past Oregon on Sunday night to reach their fourth Sweet 16 in the last five years. The Badgers will face the North Carolina Tar Heels on Thursday night in Los Angeles for the chance to move on to the Elite Eight and a potential rematch with Arizona from last year.
With the tournament now down to the last 16 teams, Bovada sports book in Las Vegas has released updated NCAA tournament odds for each remaining outfit. In a surprise to absolutely no one, the Kentucky Wildcats are still the prohibitive favorite to win the whole thing at 1/1, but what may surprise you is who has the second-best odds. The Arizona Wildcats sit at 13/2 to win the whole thing, even though they aren't even a No. 1 seed.
Here are Bovada's odds for every team left:
Kentucky 1/1
Arizona 13/2
Duke 8/1
Wisconsin 8/1
Gonzaga 12/1
Michigan State 14/1
Utah 20/1
Louisville 25/1
Oklahoma 25/1
North Carolina 33/1
Notre Dame 33/1
Wichita State 33/1
NC State 50/1
UCLA 100/1
West Virginia 100/1
Xavier 100/1
Badgers fans might be shocked to see Arizona ahead of Wisconsin, but several metrics had the Wildcats on par with Wisconsin before the tournament even started. Arizona also sits at 5/6 to win the West Region, while the Badgers are at 3/2, UNC at 8/1 and Xavier at 18/1.
So, is this surprising to any of you? Who would you put your money on to come out of the West region? Can anyone beat Kentucky? Whatever the answers to these questions are, next weekend sure will be exciting, terrifying television.
