National Signing Day 2015: LB Chris Orr signs with Wisconsin

For National Signing Day we are profiling each recruit that signs with Wisconsin, including LB Chris Orr from DeSoto, Texas. Stay tuned to B5Q all week for more coverage of Badger football's 2015 class.

DeSoto (TX) 3-star recruit3-star recruit3-star recruit No. 71 ILB

Chris Orr gives Wisconsin help at inside linebacker, where it is likely to cycle in a few faces in 2015. Derek Landisch and the Trotter brothers have graduated, meaning a whole bunch of opportunity is opening up to some younger players. It remains to be seen whether Orr will compete early, but the DeSoto, Texas, prospect is certainly a signee to be excited about.

Verbally committed June 14, 2014

Orr committed last June as the Badgers' 10th commit for 2015 and the fourth in June. Wisconsin was Orr's highest-profile offer, in addition to Arkansas, Kansas, Nevada and North Texas. Baylor, Missouri, TCU and Texas also showed interest at various times.

At the time of Orr's commitment, the Badgers had two other commits from Texas in South Oak Cliff defensive backs Takadrae Williams and X'zavien Ausborne. Both later decommitted from UW in January, but at the time, they were Wisconsin's first commitments from Texas in six years.
