College basketball rankings: Wisconsin stays put in AP Top 25, USA Today Coaches Poll

I've copied and pasted the title for this post the last three weeks. SOMEONE AHEAD OF WISCONSIN NEEDS TO LOSE!

Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

The Badgers (25-2, 13-1 Big Ten) are still ranked No. 5 in the AP Poll and No. 4 in the USA Today Coaches poll. They are still behind Duke (24-3, 11-3 ACC), Gonzaga (28-1, 16-0 WCC), UVA (25-1, 13-1 ACC) and Kentucky (27-0, 14-0 SEC) in the AP Poll and behind the Zags, Cavs and Cats in the Coaches. In fact, the top of the AP Poll has been the same for so long, Left Shark wasn't even a thing the last time the top seven teams were different.

Wisconsin travelled to Penn State (15-13, 3-12 Big Ten) and gutted out a victory over D.J. Newbill and company and completed the week against an overmatched Minnesota squad for their tenth straight conference victory.

Maryland (22-5, 10-4 Big Ten) is the only other Big Ten team ranked in both polls, while Michigan State (19-8, 10-4 Big Ten) sneaked into the Coaches Poll at No. 25 this week while riding a four game winning streak. Ohio State (19-8, 8-6 Big Ten) dropped out of both polls, but are still receiving votes, after their disgraceful showing in Ann Arbor on Sunday. Wither art thou, D'Angelo Russell? Purdue (18-9, 10-4 Big Ten) received four votes in the Coaches Poll because why the hell not, that's why. Needless to say, Purdue fans are excited.

The Badgers start their toughest stretch of the season on Tuesday night, traveling to College Park, Maryland to match up with the ranked Terps and freshman sensation Melo Trimble. Game tips at 6 p.m. CT and will be aired on ESPN. If the Badgers win, they will clinch at least a share of the B1G regular season title (*squeals with joy*). They return home Sunday afternoon, for Senior Day, to battle Michigan State at 3 p.m. CT potentially with their full complement of players for the first time since January 7th.
