Wisconsin football: Badgers visit U.S. Navy, USS Theodore Roosevelt before Holiday Bowl

The football team hung out aboard a huge U.S. Navy aircraft carrier on Monday.

The Wisconsin Badgers continue to prepare for their 2015 Holiday Bowl match-up against the USC Trojans at Qualcomm Stadium on Wednesday. They have, however, been able to take in some of San Diego's sights and sounds.

The Badgers hit up Sea World on Sunday and enjoyed the various aquatic life housed at the famed theme park. On Monday, UW players and coaches visited the United States Navy, and in particular, the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

The large aircraft carrier, which stands at 1,092 feet long and towers 20 stories above the waterline per its official website, was launched on Aug. 27, 1984 and commissioned on Oct. 25, 1986.

Many went to social media to share their experiences and thank the crew of the USS Theodore Roosevelt for the opportunity, and for their service.
