Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The Wisconsin Badgers (3-2, 0-1) are more than a day away from defending the Freedom Trophy in Lincoln, Neb., taking on the Nebraska Huskers (2-3, 0-1) in essentially an elimination game from contention in the Big Ten West division.

Before the 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff on the ESPN network of channels (coverage map here), a vote is expected by the Board of Regents for the University of Wisconsin System on a sponsorship agreement with athletic outfitter Under Armour. We laid out the lucrative details earlier this week, and you can watch the regents vote in this webcast. It starts at 9 a.m.

A 1 p.m. news conference is also set for Friday at the Camp Randall Stadium South End Zone media room, which will include Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez. Details haven't been announced, but put two-and-two together, well...

Alex Erickson, Austin Traylor injury updates

Redshirt senior wide receiver Alex Erickson was expected to practice on Thursday, Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst said. If he has no apparent symptoms, it's likely the standout wideout will return to play Saturday against the Huskers.

For another redshirt senior, news wasn't as promising. Tight end Austin Traylor will be out 4-8 weeks, as reported by the Wisconsin State Journal's Jason Galloway. Expect Troy Fumagalli -- himself coming back from injury -- and Eric Steffes to carry the load, along with a new H-back look for Reggie Love.

In case you missed it, former UW commit Jordan Stevenson's redshirt is expected to be burned and will likely play against the Badgers on Saturday.
