Sophomore Annie Pankowski wasted no time in continuing her offensive onslaught.

The reigning National Rookie of the Year opened the season's scoring on Friday night against Providence in San Jose and tacked on another four points Saturday with a hat trick and an assist in the Badgers' 8-1 win.

It was a homecoming of sorts for Pankowski, a native of Laguna Hills.

Two of Saturday's goals were short-handed and it was just the third time in Badger history that a player tallied two short-handed goals in a game.

Going back into last season, Pankowski now has 16 goals in her last 17 games.

The Badgers have their first home series this weekend against Ohio State. Sunday's 2 pm game will be televised live on Big Ten Network
