Report: Bob Bostad won't return to Wisconsin under Paul Chryst
Here's a Monday morning bummer: according to Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Bob Bostad won't be joining Paul Chryst's coaching staff at Wisconsin. Hope had persisted since Chryst's hiring became official last month that Bostad, UW's former offensive line coach from 2006-11, would return to Madison.
Bostad just concluded his first season as offensive line coach with the Tennessee Titans, and his third in the NFL. He would've had to be released from his contract by the Titans to return to Wisconsin.
According to Potrykus, Chryst hopes to have his full staff in place this week. Joe Rudolph, who's expected to be Chryst's offensive coordinator, could also coach the offensive line if needed; he was an All-Big Ten guard at UW in 1993 and '94, and tight ends coach for the Badgers from 2008-11.
The latest recruiting dead period will also end Wednesday.
