Wisconsin football recruiting: OT Kevin Estes becomes Badgers' 19th commit for 2015

The San Marcos, California, tackle joins a very impressive offensive line class.

The first days of May were big for Kevin Estes. BYU joined Wisconsin in offering on the 1st. The 2nd added Arizona, Oregon and Washington State. The 4th added Miami, and the 5th added Arizona and Cal. But the offensive tackle's recruitment went pretty close to radio silent until Friday, when he made his commitment to the Badgers.

There's definite reason to be excited for his commitment. Estes, a three-star prospect and the nation's No. 65 offensive tackle per 247Composite, brings some great athleticism for his size, and he's able to tag defenders on the second and third level in the run game, sometimes even tagging a defender on both levels on the same play. He also has the frame (6'6, 275 pounds) to hang on a quarterback's blindside even after adding weight. Add to that the aggressiveness and willingness to keep driving even if he's locked on? You have someone who might be the best lineman out of a class that includes Brian MoormanJon Dietzen and Sam Madden.

This likely finishes the Badgers' class of offensive linemen that would be scheduled to come in for 2015, though a school like Duke or someone in the Pac-12 could well try for a flip of Estes. He joins Brandyn Lee and Kyle Pennistonas the third commit from the Golden State, which is one more commitment than the Badgers have from Wisconsin.
