So I've been telling you and telling you that Wisconsin is going after small, quick cornerbacks who don't mind getting in there and attacking. Just ad nauseam with that stuff. Well, Friday, the Badgers received a commitment from Dallas (South Oak Cliff) corner Takadrae Williams. And he's 6'1.
Dallas CB Commit No. 2
That doesn't mean he doesn't fit the other two criteria Gary Andersen's staff wants in their corners. Williams' Hudl profile showed the range, and you can see he also closed on a lot of plays and there were a lot of bubble screens he diagnosed, fought off the blocker and blew up.
His recruiting process wasn't exactly chock full of major drama along the way, either. The Badgers offered on May 4, and he received offers from Colorado State and Louisville along the way and his commitment came just 33 days after UW's offer.
For the Badgers, this will allow them to have major discussions about just who exactly they would want to pick at cornerback amongst the multitude that still show interest. There's also Williams' high school teammate, athlete Willie Smith, who also received an offer from the Badgers the same day as Williams.
Oh yeah, and there's that whole thing about the Badgers getting a commitment from Texas. That's not a small deal, either.
