Wisconsin football recruiting: Badgers make Ty'Son Williams top 4, land more camp visitors

The Badgers are focusing on a handful of players to attend their camp and, hopefully, their university.

Since we had our recruiting notebooks pushed back a day last week, not a whole lot has happened, but the recruiting game never sleeps and neither do we here at Bucky's 5th Quarter.

Catching up with...

Quentez Johnson: One of Thomas Brown's many forays into Georgia has brought us an offer for Johnson. The 6'3, 315-pound three-star defensive tackle is from Ellenwood and currently is leaning toward Tennessee. While his top three schools include the Vols, Miami and Oregon, the Badgers are still recruiting Johnson hard ($). Wisconsin is looking for a large nose tackle this class, and if it (presumably) loses out on Kahlil McKenzie, Johnson would not be a bad consolation prize.

Zach Abercrumbia: Continuing their push into Texas, the Badgers offered three-star defensive tackle Abercrumbia last week. He was shocked and happily surprised ($) by the Wisconsin offer and plans on considering UW heavily during his recruitment. He currently has offers from a bunch of different schools, but Texas Tech is in the lead according to 247 Sports.

Ty'Son Williams: The South Carolina running back craze does not end with last year's commitment of Caleb Kinlaw for the Badgers. This four-star tailback named his top four schools last week and Wisconsin clocked in at No. 2. Notre Dame is ahead of UW, while South Carolina and Clemson are nipping on our heels. One of Williams' highlight videos on Hudl is entitled "A Knight's Tale," and any time someone references a Martin Lawrence movie, I'm going to get excited. Williams shows next-level speed and elusiveness, as well as the ability to return kicks (which is always an admirable quality). While Notre Dame and USC currently lead for his services, Williams is definitely a player to keep an eye on for the Badgers while they make their push down south.

Going camping

A couple more players have decided to come to Wisconsin's camp in June. They include Markell Jones, Sam Madden and Ethan Tucky. Jones is a three-star running back out of Indiana who has visited Madison ($) twice this year already. He is currently a Purdue lean, but with an offer list chock full of MAC teams, if the Badgers throw everything they have at Jones, he might be swayed toward UW.

Enormous (6'7, 345 pounds) offensive tackle Madden is also planning on attending Wisconsin's camp in June. The New Jersey native, who is cousins with John Moffitt, said that Wisconsin is the leader ($) for his commitment earlier this spring. He is currently sporting offers from Alabama, Florida State and Ohio State, so being in the lead for Madden is no small feat.

Tucky, a three-star linebacker out of Ohio for the 2016 class, is planning on attending Wisconsin's camp this summer according to Rivals ($). He currently sports offers from Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Boston College, but will probably start receiving some BCS (RIP) interest with a strong summer showing, as he's rated a four-star prospect by 247's composite rankings.

Let's check up on Twitter

I don't know if you guys heard, but Twitter is a place where all the kids are telling their innermost thoughts. Here are some of those thoughts!

-- Chris Orr, an under-recruited linebacker out of Texas, is appreciative of the "love" that UW fans are showing him. He currently has offers from Nevada, North Texas and Wisconsin.

-- Javarius Davis is making his college decision with his mother in mind, which is actually really sweet.

-- Brandon Wilson is musing on which position he'd like to play in college, and he settled on OLB.

He's named Wisconsin one of his finalists ($) and plans on visiting Madison later this summer. UCF and Mississippi State are currently in the lead for acquiring his commitment. He also plans on committing this summer, so keep an eye out on the Fourth.

-- And lastly, unofficial recruiting coordinator Kyle Penniston continues to love him some University of Wisconsin.

I mean, seriously, we need to get this guy on campus ASAP.
