With a busy weekend of camps ahead, Wisconsin got a jump start on adding to its 2015 recruiting class when Bradenton (IMG Academy), Florida, linebacker Nick Thomas committed to the Badgers on Thursday.

Thomas, who was born and raised in Kansas, is a three-star prospect and the No. 33 inside linebacker in the country, according to 247Composite. At 6'2, 222 pounds and with a 40-yard dash clocked at 4.62 seconds, he's an impressive prospect who could wind up being an under-the-radar recruit once he sees playing time. Wisconsin was the first of two schools to offer Thomas back in May; Hawaii just offered this week. His offer sheet was likely due to expand quickly, however, as multiple reports indicate schools like Baylor, Miami and Oklahoma, among others, had begun to show interest.
He's also expected to graduate high school early to enroll at UW.
Thomas: " I feel like Wisconsin is a perfect fit for me now. I am so excited to be there." Adds he will graduate early #Badgers

Thomas is the Badgers' first linebacker and fourth defensive commit for 2014. Counting soft commit Andrew James, Thomas is also the second Florida commit in the class. He'll likely receive more company from the Sunshine State before long.
