Wisconsin announced the hiring of program assistant Katherine Vosters as Director of Basketball Operations on Friday. Vosters, a 2013 graduate of UW, spent the 2013-14 season as a program assistant on Bo Ryan's staff following four years as a student-manager.
“Kat has been a valuable member of our staff for several years now, working her way up from student manager, to program assistant and now in our operations position,” Ryan said in a release. “She’s organized and has a strong work ethic and shown she is ready to take on the new responsibilities. This should provide a smooth transition for our program and keep us running efficiently.”
Vosters, a Fitchburg, Wisconsin native, assisted with administrative duties for last year's team, which reached its first Final Four since 2000. She also was involved with organization and production of the 2014 Postseason Celebration, among other duties. A 2013 graduate of UW-Madison's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, she also received a certificate in Gender and Women's Studies. In her junior and senior years, Vosters was the basketball program's lead manager and also worked the UW Boys Basketball Camps in each of the past four summers.
“I have been fortunate to have worked with this program for the past five years, and to be given the opportunity to take on the role of Director of Basketball Operations is very exciting,” Vosters said. “I thank Coach Ryan and his staff for the opportunity and look forward to continuing my commitment to Wisconsin basketball.”
