College basketball rankings: Badgers climb back into top five in both AP Top 25, USA Today Coaches Polls

Wisconsin is ranked fourth in both polls, but has the third-best odds to win the national title according to Bovada.

Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

The Wisconsin Badgers jumped up two spots in both polls this week thanks to Louisville and Arizona taking their respective first losses. Wisconsin went 2-0 last week, beating Cal and Buffalo by identical 68-56 scores. The win at Cal, which is receiving votes in the polls despite losing two in a row, should look pretty good at year's end and beating Buffalo wasn't easy, even for Kentucky.

Maryland and Ohio State join the Badgers as ranked Big Ten teams, while Penn State, Indiana, Illinois and Minnesota are in the "receiving votes" category.

Wisconsin opens up conference play on New Year's Eve against Penn State. The game tips off at noon CT.
