Melvin Gordon named Big Ten Player of the Week after Wisconsin's win over Iowa


Melvin Gordon is once again the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. In Wisconsin's road win over Iowa, Gordon recorded 264 all-purpose yards, including 200 on 31 carries, and two touchdowns. In doing so, he became the fastest player in NCAA history to reach 2,000 rushing yards in a season, and also matched the Big Ten and Wisconsin single-season records previously held by Ron Dayne's 2,109 yards in 1996. The award is Gordon's third this season and his fourth overall.

Other players of the week include Minneosta corenrback Briean Boddy-Calhoun (co-defensive), Northwestern safety Ibraheim Campbell (co-defensive), Illinois kicker David Reisner (co-special teams), Maryland kicker Brad Craddock (co-special teams) and Ohio State wide receiver/returner Jalin Marshall (freshman).
