College football rankings: Wisconsin returns to AP Top 25, Coaches Poll after Rutgers win

Wisconsin is back in the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll after demolishing Rutgers.

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

Wisconsin has returned to the AP Top 25 and Coaches Poll after taking down Rutgers Saturday afternoon in Piscataway, N.J. The Badgers were ranked up until Week 7, when they dropped from the rankings following a Oct. 4 loss at Northwestern.

The second College Football Playoff committee rankings will be released Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

The rankings are largely superfluous for Wisconsin. Winning the Big Ten West remains the Badgers' primary objective, as doing so would get them to the Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis and give them the chance to play for one of the top bowls in this new post-BCS era.

Here's the full AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll, along with the Massey ratings, the computer rankings that now include margin of victory.
