Vince Biegel named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week

1

Wisconsin linebacker Vince Biegel won his first career Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award after his stellar outing vs. Purdue, the conference announced Monday. Biegel registered seven tackles, for four loss and three sacks as the Badgers handled the Boilermakers, 34-16. Those four TFLs were the most by a Big Ten player in a single game this season, and those three sacks tied the conference high. As a defense, Wisconsin has now held opponents under 100 rushing yards in three straight games.

The last Badger to win Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors? Why, that'd be Chris Borland, who's still doing some awesome stuff in the NFL these days.
