Joel Stave will start at QB vs. Illinois, JSOnline reports
Joel Stave will start at quarterback for Wisconsin for Saturday's game vs. Illinois, Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Unless Stave has a resoundingly impressive performance vs. the Illini -- not out of the question considering they have the nation's 62nd-ranked passing defense (232.8 yards allowed per game -- it seems likely that Tanner McEvoy will still see time. Head coach Gary Andersen and offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig said as much earlier in the week when they floated the likelihood of Wisconsin utilizing a two-quarterback system this weekend.
