Ed. Note: Apologies for the lack of Badger Bits over the past week. We've been dealing with a variety of outside responsibilities (read: actual dayjobs and families) and morning links have unintentionally fallen by the wayside. If you're interested in helping out with Badger Bits duties and think you'd be a strong fit, send a sample Badger Bits post (250ish words plus 5+ links) to michael.fiammetta@gmail.com.

Wisconsin held its annual Red/White Scrimmage on Sunday, providing fans a glimpse into the upcoming Badgers roster (minus Sam Dekker) before the season officially gets underway Nov. 5. Team White defeated Team Red 57-56 in front of 8,002 fans at the Kohl Center, and there was even some late-game "controversy" when Bo Ryan allowed Team Red an extra possession for a Duke Dukan buzzer-beater that didn't actually count.

Who were the standouts? Again, we're looking at a split-squad scrimmage here, but the consensus seems to be that sophomore Vitto Brown looks ready to lock down UW's fourth frontcourt spot. Brown scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the scrimmage. Nigel Hayes and walk-on guard T.J. Schlundt scored 14 points to lead Team White, while Frank Kaminsky led Team Red and all scorers with 23 points. Dukan finished with 14, not counting that last three-pointer.

Check out the links below for more scrimmage observations and general Badgers links from the weekend. Again, we'll do our best to return to Badger Bits on an every-morning basis. Let us know if you wanna help!
