Big Ten Basketball Media Day: Sam Dekker talks season outlook for Badgers

"We ended last season as a loss, so I see that as a failure."

Sam Dekker joined Bo Ryan, Frank Kaminsky and Josh Gasser as Wisconsin's representatives at Big Ten media day in Chicago on Thursday to discuss where the Badgers stand entering the most anticipated season in recent UW history.

The full video of Dekker's interview -- shot by B5Q's Sam Brief -- is above. Sam has much more on tap, so be sure to check back here and follow him on Twitter @sambrief.

"Nothing really has to change," Dekker said. "Coach is so good at keeping us balanced, keeping us focused on what we have to do, the task at hand. Nothing's really going to change for us. Coach is one of those guys that he's set in stone in his ways, and those ways are ones that work for him and work for our team."

When asked if a national championship was the ultimate goal, Dekker was unequivocal.

"It should be. I think it should be for every team here," he said. "You want to end the season as the champion. You want to end the season winning a game and not losing. We ended last season as a loss, so I see that as a failure."
