Badger Bits: Living in Interesting Times

It's been about six months since we began our time on Bucky's 5th Quarter. It hasn't lacked for drama.

It's been about six months since the site's come under the auspices of Andy, Mike, Phil and myself. Suffice it to say, this has been the year of the wild card. It's been strange days in Madison.

The agony and the ecstasy of the football season, which ended in a coaching search and another Rose Bowl Berth. Hockey started with the suspension of Nic Kerdiles and a 1-7-2 start, re-cratered with a home loss to Penn State and ended with winning the Broadmoor Trophy and a berth in a very wide-open region of the tournament. Basketball had the loss of Josh Gasser to a torn ACL, the struggles of the seniors and the tendency for the offense to disappear. And somehow? Bo Ryan continued his streak of being in the top four of conference play.

Soon enough though, the offseason will come for hockey. And then it gets quiet.
