With the end of the Rose Bowl, the final push for commitments to come to Madison begins in earnest and Gary Andersen hasn't been completely quiet in his first days as Badgers head coach. A couple of intriguing names plan on taking their visits to Madison in the next couple of weeks. It starts with a quarterback chock full of that tremendous upside potential.
QB Michael Julian (Class of 2013)
Hilton Head, South Carolina
6-foot-5, 180 pounds
Offers: Arizona, Boston College, East Carolina, Toledo, Utah State, Wisconsin
If you look at his senior highlight film, you can't help but be intrigued by what Julian brings to the table. He has a pretty deep ball and legitimately good run skills (not to mention that he's got a 4.58 40 time). Forget about the two-star ranking that he has by most scouting services. He's got a skill set and a 40-time that lets you make easy and lazy comparisons to Chuckie Keeton (another two-star recruit) and dream of Julian growing up into another Colin Kaepernick. And if you look at his Twitter feed, you'll notice that he's just as intrigued by Wisconsin as Andersen is by him.
LB Buddy Brown (Class of 2013)
6-foot-3, 205 pounds
Offers: Iowa, Temple, Wisconsin
The three-/four-star linebacker is still a Temple commit, but after coach Steve Addazio left for Boston College with defensive coordinator Chuck Heater, Brown talked about taking an official visit to Iowa and Wisconsin at a press conference at the Chesapeake Bowl ($). Like Julian, a big senior season has Brown rising up in regards from scouting circles. If Brown were to decommit from Temple, he could very well see the field by his second season in Madison.
