Regarding star rankings: Across the site, we use 247Sports' composite rankings when referencing someone as a two, three, four or five-star recruit. These composite rankings factor in rankings from most scouting services, as well as 247's own. We use them not to play favorites toward 247, but to reflect what is ideally a more accurate ranking of a prospect.
