Badgers to Play Alabama in 2015?

Reports have Wisconsin set to open 2015 in Dallas against the perennial national championship contenders.

Could a Melvin Gordon Heisman campaign start against the SEC?

One of the things Bret Bielema tried to during his time at Wisconsin was improve the non-conference schedules. After all, there have been plenty of non-conference schedules where Northern Illinois was the best opponent that we faced.

(Nothing against the Huskies. Good job, good effort last night.)

But it seems as if the Badgers are fixing to step up in weight class. The Alabama Rivals website is reporting that for the 2015 Cowboys Classic, the team that's stepping up to face the Crimson Tide is our very own Badgers. Of course, future scheduling is something that really only gets locked down by the time the two teams actually get to the season at hand. But as we go into 2013, we could be looking at a future where the back-to-back national champions are on our schedule.

This is one of those things that could very well seem to be a case of "be careful what you wish for." You always hope that your team could go in and take down the best. You want to call the Paul Finebaum show and be all like, LOOKS LIKE THAT SEC SPEED IS NO MATCH FOR CHEESE POWER, PAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWL.

But, they're Alabama. Perennial national championship contenders. Evil genius head coaches. You could easily get boathoused and have a cloud on the season. Ask Michigan this year. They were never the same after Alabama. Then again? Goethe was credited as saying that boldness has genius power and magic to it.

So long on the other hand short, cry havoc, let slip the dogs of war. If we've got a Saban in our future? I'm excited.

(Hopefully passersby won't be amazed by so much blood.)
