Notre Dame Academy Wins WIAA State Championship
2013 Wisconsin defense recruit Tim Davison has a chance to skip his senior season at Green Bay Notre Dame to play in the USHL. Hell, Tim had an opportunity to skip his junior season to go play in the USHL.
But Davison came back, and boy did it ever pay off.
The Wisconsin recruit played a big part in the Tritons capturing their first ever state hockey championship last weekend. Notre Dame Academy defeated defending champion Wausau West in the title game 3-2 in double overtime on a goal by Mason Appleton.
Davison finished his senior season with 13 goals and 38 assists for 51 points in 30 games. Next season Tim will play for Chicago who owns his USHL rights before coming to Madison in the fall of 2013.
It's unclear at this point where Tim will be playing hockey this spring. Rumors have circulated that he may join Chicago for the rest of this season. The Steel currently have 13 games remaining in the regular season. If he doesn't, he'll be in action with Team Wisconsin this weekend in the WAHA Tier 1 boys hockey playoffs.
Linhart Officially Invited To NTDP Evaluation Camp
A few weeks ago we broke the news on 2014 Wisconsin recruit Jake Linhart getting invited to tryout for the United States NTDP. USA Hockey made the news official today when they released the names of 52 athletes who will be invited to participate in the camp.
USA Hockey's NTDP Evaluation Camp serves as one of the primary evaluation tools for selecting the U.S. NTDP U17 team that is housed in Ann Arbor.
Wisconsin has recruited the NTDP hard since Mike Eaves took over the Badger program. Recent recruits from the NTDP include Nic Kerdiles, Michael Mersch, Jake McCabe, Frankie Simonelli, John Ramage, Jamie McBain, and Jack Skille.
Also noteworthy was the invitation of Luke Davison from DePere. Luke, the younger brother of Wisconsin recruit Tim had a phenomenal state tournament last weekend and has started to draw the attention of scouts.
Other Wisconsin natives invited to camp included Anders Bjork (Mequon) who plays for the Chicago Mission U16 team with Linhart and is committed to Notre Dame, as well as Cooper Watson from Appleton.

Besse has put up video game numbers this season for Benilde. In 25 regular season games Besse recorded 75 points. Besse chipped in 7 more points in the section playoffs to help lead his team to state.
Two Wisconsin Natives Playing In The Minnesota State Tourney?
There were a lot of people surprised this week when we started talking about Wisconsin natives playing in the prestigious Minnesota State Hockey Tournament.
#2 ranked (Class A) St. Thomas Academy features an outstanding freshman forward from the Badger state. Tom Novak, who is from River Falls played a large part in STA's success this season and had an even bigger role in their first round match up yesterday at the state tournament.
Novak busted onto the scene yesterday as just a pint sized freshman with two goals and two assists in a 7-0 victory. St. Thomas advanced to the semi-finals on Friday where they will face Breck.
But Novak isn't the only Wisconsin native in the tournament. Hill-Murray sophomore forward Tyler Funk is also playing this weekend. Funk is from Hudson and as I write this already has a goal in Hill-Murray's quarterfinal game. The Pioneers are up 3-1 right now, and Funk led off the scoring.
Both Novak and Funk played for Team Wisconsin before their high school seasons started. Novak, as a 1997 born player was on the U14 team, and Funk as a 1996 born player was on the U16 team.
