Joe Pavelski Charity Golf Tournament

As has been an annual tradition here, I wanted to take a quick moment and remind everyone that registration for the 2012 Joe Pavelski charity golf tournament presented by Central Wisconsin Credit Union is now open.

The tournament is one of a number of hands-on charities that former national champion and current San Jose Shark Joe Pavelski is involved in.

Press release from the organizers:

Greetings Golfers,

Registration is now open for the 2012 Joe Pavelski Charity Golf

Tournament, presented by Central Wisconsin Credit Union. The event is
scheduled for Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Stevens Point Country
Club. For the fourth year, we plan to host a fun-filled day of golf
and games, along with a catered reception, live auction, and
tournament awards ceremony.

Registration is open to teams of four, individuals, or reception-only

guests. Tournament registration includes 18-hole greens fees, cart,
dinner, and tournament t-shirt. Tournament proceeds will fund the Joe
Pavelski Scholarship for Leaders, and the Stevens Point Area Youth
Hockey Association (SPAYHA) in their campaign to build a second sheet
of ice.

to register!

I can speak from experience that this event is first class all the way, and I would recommend it to anyone. I have personally attended this event in each of its first three years and walk away more impressed every time.

Joe is more than happy to stop and talk with people attending the tournament, and makes the rounds signing autographs and taking pictures for every golfer. It's not every day that you get to hang out at the country club with a national champion and an Olympic silver medalist.

After golfing there is a catered reception (you can buy tickets for just the reception if you want), with a live auction that features LOADS of awesome merchandise, including in recent years game used Wisconsin jerseys.

Remember that this is a charity event and proceeds go to The Joe Pavelski Scholarship for Leaders as well as Portage County Youth on Ice. The $125 fee per player for 18 holes at a country club course with a cart and an excellent catered meal with Joe Pavelski is an excellent deal and it goes for a great cause.
