Campbell wasn't able to take down the mid-major beasts of Utah State in the Idaho Potato bowl, but he's definitely an interesting option. Even with the Kliff Kingsbury hire, Campbell is still one of the youngest head coaches in the FBS and he is an offensive mind of some renown, replacing a lot of talent from the 2011 version of the Rockets and managing a top-three finish on the offensive side of the ball.
With the Mel Tucker interview, and the rumors of Chris Ash and Dave Clawson getting serious consideration, even if Campbell is on the shortlist, there's no guarantee he's coming. But at the very least? We seem to be in the end game.
