Behind a rousing effort from Jared Berggren and a game-opening 14-4 run, Wisconsin leads Cornel 42-24 at halftime at the Kohl Center.
Berggren leads all scorers with 16 points, and also has four rebounds and three blocks. Ben Brust (also with six rebounds and three assists) and Sam Dekker each have seven points. Dekker also had his first signature highlight as a Badger, jumping a Cornell pass and tomahawking it home on the other end with 3:10 remaining.
The other notable moment came at the 4:14 mark, when Wisconsin head coach Bo Ryan was handed a technical foul for jawing at the referees from the sideline.
The Badgers are shooting 51.6 percent (16-of-31) from the floor and are holding the Big Red to just 29.4 percent (10-of-34) shooting. Wisconsin has also forced Cornell into 10 turnovers.
Devin Cherry leads Cornell with 10 points, while Miles Asafo-Adjei and Noal Cressler each have four.
