Wisconsin freshman Nic Kerdiles may not be eligible to play for the Badgers this weekend, but he'll still be on the ice.
According to a report from Chris Peters of the United States of Hockey blog, Kerdiles will suit up for a pair exhibition games this weekend with his former club, the U.S. U-18 team.
Just got word that suspended Wisconsin forward Nic Kerdiles will play with the U.S. Nat'l U18 Team this weekend vs. Minnesota & St. Thomas.

Peters also noted that the NCAA is aware of the situation and cleared Kerdiles to play this weekend.
Friday night, the U-18's will be at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis to take on the Golden Gophers, and Saturday they will face the Tommies of St. Thomas.
Kerdiles is currently serving a 10-game suspension, which was reduced from the year-long punishment that was originally levied by the NCAA. Kerdiles is eligible to play for the Badgers starting November 30th at Denver.
While some may worry about the possibility of injury, the reward here significantly outweighs the risk. Kerdiles will see plenty of ice time this weekend against a pair of talented opponents.
Great move by Wisconsin and USA Hockey to get creative and work together to make this happen.
