Week 2 BlogPoll Top 25: How B5Q Voted

Due to games on Sunday and Monday, this week's BlogPoll Top 25 was delayed to Wednesday. Next week it will come out on Monday and stay that way for the rest of the year.

Week 1 gave us some clarity, but admittedly, there are still a lot of question marks as most of the top teams in the country played cupcakes last week.

Here's how I voted with some explanations:

Let's start at the top:

No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Boise State - Most voters probably wouldn't move Alabama and Oklahoma down like I did just because LSU and Boise State won big games and the Tide and Sooners didn't. With that said, I wasn't really sold with any team as the No. 1 team overall last week and the Tigers and Broncos proved they were legit. For now, that's all we have to go off of. I still think we need a greater body of work to go off of and we'll see what the coming weeks tell us about Oklahoma and Alabama.

No. 8 Oregon - The Ducks fell further in the AP and coaches' poll, but I think they played a very good team and still showed a lot of potential. Dropping them six spots is enough, even after a loss.

No. 18 TCU - The Frogs take the second-biggest fall in my Top 25 after losing to Baylor. It's not so much the loss that disappointed me as it was the defense playing so poorly. With a new quarterback, TCU needs its defense to play better or it might not even be a Top 25 team.

No. 20 Baylor - The Bears showed they have a great offense. Not sure they will have climb much higher because their defense isn't very good, but still a great first week for Baylor.

No. 21 Missouri - I actually watched a good deal of the Missour-Miami (Ohio) game. I think the Redhawks are a pretty decent team and Mizzou's defense played well, but it was still an uninspiring win at home against a MAC team. The Tigers fall one spot in my Top 25.

No. 24 Ohio State - I still have the Buckeyes much lower than most, but I'm starting to come around on the idea that this team still has enough talent to win a lot of games this year. I'm still skeptical, but on paper, the Buckeyes are definitely at Top 25 team.

Notre Dame - I'm always the guy saying the Irish are getting too much hype every year. This time, I'm the one who looks stupid. I had the Irish way too high last week.

SBNation's official Top 25 will be out Wednesday morning. We'll see how mine looks compared to the group's.

For now, what do you think?
