Happy Wednesday! Here are your Badger Bits for Wednesday, September 22nd!
Wisconsin wide receiver Nick Toon is making steady progress towards returning to action for the Badger football team. Toon has been sidelined with turf toe after reeling in four passes in the season opener against UNLV. While nothing is official yet, it appears as though Toon will be able to see action against Austin Peay if he is feeling good on Saturday. If Toon is unable to play this week, he should be ready to go by the Big Ten opener on October 2nd against Michigan State, according to a series of tweets from his twitter feed:
Ill b good for the 10 RT @mjbarash @Young_Toonchi better get healthy for big 10 season!
We will see. I hope so... RT @chaseprochnow @Young_Toonchi does that mean you are playing this week? Can't wait to see you back out there?
Toon's return would be a major boost to the Badgers, who have been battling the injury bug all season, including losing fellow wide receiver David Gilreath indefinitely to a concussion and sophomore linebacker Chris Borland for the season to a recurring shoulder injury.
