LIVE THREAD: Big Ten Media Day 1

CHICAGO - Hello from Chicago where the Big Ten Media Days kickoff this morning when UW head coach Bret Bielema steps to the podium at 10 a.m. I'll be here for the next two days providing live coverage of the unofficial start to the 2010 season.

As always, the big news at the start of Big Ten Media Days is which team was tabbed as the conference favorite. Not surprisingly, Ohio State was voted No. 1 in the Big Ten by the media with Iowa at No. 2 and Wisconsin third. The conference only allows the media to select their top three teams.

For the record, that is exactly how I voted.

Michigan State's Greg Jones was named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, while Ohio State's Terrelle Pryor was named Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. I voted for Jones and UW running back John Clay, who is the reigning Offensive POY.
