On to Plan C? Badgers lose Wright to Pitt

Cameron Wright, who was re-offered a scholarship by the Badgers in May after Vander Blue decommitted from UW, is headed to Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

This from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Wisconsin had been hoping to land shooting guard Cameron Wright, who orginially verbally committed to Ohio State but then backed out.

The Badgers were among the finalists for Wright, but little consolation as in the end he decided to go to Pittsburgh.

Here's a quote via Scout.com from Wright's coach:

"It was basically between Wisconsin, Pitt and Cleveland State," Benedictine coach Rob Stricula said. "…when he walked out of Pitt everything was right. He had the right vibe. In all the visits we went on he had a poker face. After yesterday it was the first time I’ve seen him excited."

So what's Plan C?

Actually, Plan C could be Plan A, which is Vander Blue. Blue still remains a real possibility for the Badgers. Otherwise, Chance Carter from Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Ill and Jacob Thomas from Columbia Heights, Minn. are next on Scout.com's list. We'll see if Bo Ryan offers either of them a scholarship next.

Loyola happens to be the rival school of St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, where incoming walk-on freshman Dan Fahey and junior recruit Nnanna Egwu hail from.

Rest of 2009-10 schedule to be released

I was told the Big Ten will release the 2009-10 conference schedule Monday. UW's non-conference slate can be found here
