A big weight has been lifted as Wisconsin has finally added another forward to the 2014 recruiting class. Adam Rockwood became the third forward to pledge to the Badgers for next season when he gave a verbal commitment to Mike Eaves and the UW staff during a campus visit.
Even with Matt Ustaski (Langely Rivermen, BCHL) and Ryan Wagner (U.S. NTDP U-18) signing national letters of intent for the Badgers in the fall early signing period, Wisconsin fans have been nervous about replacing six departing seniors up front. There's also the possibility Nic Kerdiles and Joseph LaBate sign NHL contracts in the offseason.
Excited to announce my commitment to the University of Wisconsin. Thankful to all my teammates, friends & family for the support. #badgers

While UW still needs to fill at least three spots, Rockwood was one of the top remaining players on the board, and should be considered a nice coup for the Wisconsin coaching staff.
"His vision and playmaking ability are very above average," Coquitlam Express coach Barry Wolff said in an interview earlier this season. "We're very lucky to have him in the lineup."
The Coquitlam Express forward currently leads the British Columbia Hockey League in assists with 49, and is tied for third in the league in points with 60 in 46 games this season.
More information on Rockwood to come later today.
