Third period updates...
--Early third Jake McCabe had another glaring turnover out in the slot on a weak backhand. Not his best night.
--16:00-Miami's Sean Kuraly has a nice backcheck on a Wisconsin line-rush to stop a backdoor pass from Zengerle that was ticketed for Ramage.
--14:20-Kerdiles with a really nice shot on goal
--12:50-Two-on-one for the Badgers, LaBate hooks Lee up, and the senior center rings one off the crossbar.
--Rumpel can't control the rebound on a line rush and Miami comes up with one of their best scoring opportunists of the night on the ensuing loose puck out front.
--8:28-Wisconsin is first on the board with a goal from LaBate. The sophomore forward picks the puck up on his own goal line, goes coast to coast, and fires a shot at Williams under the glove that handcuffs him and goes in. 1-0 Wisconsin.
--7:42-Keegan Meuer with a nice tip on a John Ramage shot.
--3:30-Tyler Barnes with maybe the play of the game as he dives and blocks a shot that was ticketed for the open net.
--Late save by Rumpel on Murphy seals the deal for a 1-0 Wisconsin victory.
--Rumpel was great for the most part all night. He moved well, smothered loose pucks.
--Really inspired play by Wisconsin after their goal to keep the foot on the gas pedal. Too many times this team has let down with the lead late in games. They played well to the finish for the most part.
--Excellent pace all night. Eaves said this is the best skating team Wisconsin has faced since Minnesota and he's correct.
--Excellent coaching from Eaves tonight. Credit where credit is due, he was matching lines, double shifting lines, trying to create every advantage he could the entire game. Really liked what he did. He played tonight like it was a playoff game.
