Wisconsin Badgers' Red/White Scrimmage Set For Nov. 4

Who will star in this year's scrimmage? Dukan? Smith? Someone much more believable?

Basketball is officially back in season this month and the public can catch a glimpse of the Badgers during the annual Red/White Scrimmage. The event will take place this year on Sunday, Nov. 4.

The scrimmage begins at 5 p.m. at the Kohl Center following a women's basketball exhibition game at 2 p.m., so plan your parking strategy accordingly. Without a ticket to the exhibition, doors open at 4 p.m. for the free scrimmage.

Once again, Wisconsin will eschew the pageantry of a Midnight Madness event when practice kicks off this weekend. Instead, most fans will have to wait until this glorified practice session to get their first peek at freshmen Sam Dekker and Zak Showalter in Wisconsin uniforms, as well as see who hit the weights the hardest since last season (hint: George Marshall is ripped).

As always, I plan to attend and provide some notes on the action, though results can be deceiving. Keaton Nankivil famously looked like an All-American in nearly all four of his scrimmages that I observed. Despite that risk, it's a great time for those not normally accustomed to attending games live to get a great seat for live hoops, no matter how trivial.

Check back to B5Q after the scrimmage for a full report.
