Wisconsin does indeed lose its linebackers coach, but not to Bret Bielema's staff.
Turns out we were only half-right yesterday -- linebackers coach Andy Buh will be leaving Wisconsin, but for Cal and not Arkansas, as was reported.
Per FootballScoop.com, Buh will serve as Cal's defensive coordinator after head coach Sonny Dykes made "one last bold offer." FootballScoop also reports that Buh not only had offers from not only Arkansas, but Wisconsin as well. If true, that highlights the dilemma facing Director of Athletics and interim head coach Barry Alvarez -- UW's assistants could very well like to stay in Madison, but without the promise of the next head coach retaining them, their priority is rightfully finding stable employment.
Not to prod the speculation train even further, but Alvarez' attempt to sway Buh could knock down the theory that's been floated regarding Alvarez already having UW's next coach in the cold, as well as a new staff. We'll stop there, though, and see what unfolds over the next few weeks. Remember, Wisconsin can't really announce anything until after Dec. 19.
