After a strong start to the AAU season, Wisconsin's lone verbal commitment for 2012, Sam Dekker of Sheboygan, made a big jump in the updated ESPN recruiting rankings released today. The 6'7" Dekker is now a 4-Star prospect, ranked #45 overall in the country as well as the 8th-best SF in his class (up from 35th).
Dekker was recently ranked #82 (Rivals), #79 (Scout) and #67 (247Sports) overall by other major recruiting services. He is recovering from a sprained ankle, but should be back in action at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions this weekend.
ESPN also updated its junior and sophomore class rankings, in which a few players of note appear. Wisconsin target Bronson Koenig is a Top 50 player for 2013, while Milwaukee Hamilton's Kevon Looney is rated as a Top 20 talent in 2014.
