Bo Ryan and Bret Bielema golf 18 with the Chicago Tribune

The Chicago Tribune's Teddy Greenstein does a series of columns on sports celebrities after golfing 18 holes with them (great gig, huh?). This week he golfed with Bo Ryan and Bret Bielema in Madison, which obviously produced a great piece.

Bo Ryan on 670 The Score this morning

I've been trying to get Bo Ryan on 670 The Score since I started working there last May. Getting Bo to do the interview wasn't the problem, it was finding an excuse to talk Wisconsin basketball on a Chicago sports station that rarely talks college sports. I guess the NCAA Tournament is all we needed. Bo was on this morning with Mully & Hanley and you can listen to the interview by clicking on the headline above. Bo gives some good insight on Wofford and their star big man Noah Dahlman. He also said his players should get a "team of the year" award for the work they did in the offseason.

Ryan grabs second commitment from Illinois' heralded 2011 class

George Marshall, a three-star point guard from Chicago, IL, gave UW head coach Bo Ryan a verbal commitment Tuesday evening. The junior becomes the second member of UW's 2011 recruiting class. Marshall is ranked No. 112 in Rivals.com's Top 150 of 2011.

Ryan's USA squad falls to Russia, heads to Bronze medal game

After winning its first five games relatively easily, Team USA blew a 10-point fourth quarter lead and lost to Russia 69-68 in Belgrade, Serbia Friday. The loss means Bo Ryan's team will not win the 2009 World University Games. Instead, the Americans will play for the bronze medal Saturday.

East's Mason could play football and basketball at UW

We haven't seen it since Bo Ryan took over the UW men's basketball program in 2001, but a football recruit could end up playing in both Camp Randall Stadium and the Kohl Center. According to the Capital Times, Madison East's Marquis Mason has given the Badgers an oral commitment to play football after Bret Bielema told the 6-5, 218 pound wide receiver he could try out for the basketball team as well. Mason, who has scholarship offers from UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay to play basketball, becomes the second oral commitment of the 2010 recruiting class. Check out the Cap Times story for more details.
