Onalaska's Matt Thomas chooses Iowa State (La Crosse Tribune)
Guard picks Cyclones over Wisconsin (Des Moines Register)

At long last, Bo Ryan could no longer resist taking the plunge and offered Thomas a scholarship late Thursday, Jan. 19, to play at Wisconsin. Minnesota was the first Big Ten school to extend a scholarship to Thomas, following offers from Iowa State, Creighton, UW-Green Bay and Northern Iowa. Iowa State's Fred Hoiberg and Virginia's Tony Bennett have put in the most work on Thomas prior to the offer from UW, while Boston College and Northwestern also had offered scholarships. In the end, Iowa State and Virginia were Thomas' finalists.
