One of the more intriguing athletes the Wisconsin Badgers signed for the class of 2016 will not be on campus in the fall. Jacksonville, Fla., three-star cornerback Ke’Shan Pennamon has decided instead to take the prep school route, signing with Palmetto Prep in Columbia, S.C. He announced his decision via Twitter.
This means Pennamon becomes a class of 2017 prospect, and ostensibly one further prepared for the rigors of college. For our current purposes -- it’s a redshirt year without actually taking a redshirt.
Badger247's Evan Flood reported via Twitter that Pennamon told him that he is committed to Wisconsin. The Badgers had been looking to add one more cornerback to the class of 2017 before this news broke, with Delray Beach, Fla., three-star prospect Joshua Turner reportedly the Badgers top target at the position. Pennamon’s impact on Wisconsin would have been expected to be beyond the 2016 season anyways, so we’ll see what happens for 2017.

Ke'Shan Pennamon tells me he's now a #Badgers commit for 2017, but unsure how his recruitment will play out the rest of the year.
